I love customizing my clothes with patches, studs and pins but I haven’t posted a DIY in a while, so I had to share this one with you today.
I have had the jacket and patches for a while without really knowing what I wanted to do with them until I decided to get a ton of pins. Pins were huge for me when I was in high school, I put them all over my backpack and jackets and they either had annoying little sayings about lazer cats and satan on them or band names. Now I prefer enamel pins that reference anatomy, medicine and oddities. My all time favorite store to get large enamel pins with tons of detail is Demonic Pinfestation (which is where I got the jarred specimen pins). I have mentioned them before in my monthly obsessions and I am in desperate need of making another order to add to this jacket. I highly recommend them for any of your monster, horror or medical needs.
The body part pins are from another great company on Etsy called The Spiritual Cookie. Their products are cute and super affordable they have a huge variety of products aside from pins and I would definitely purchase from them again.
The patches I used are from another company that I have talked about before and have been featured in other DIY posts One Hand Printing I love their patches and always go back to them whenever I am in need of unique patches. If you hurry they are currently having a sale on their Etsy store for 10% off with code “GIMME10”.
This jacket didn’t really take that long to put together after all of the items arrived, I finished in about and hour or two. As always I hand stitched the patches on with embroidery needles and a strong black thread. the patches were all trimmed before sewing and always remember to pin them on to see how it looks all together before committing to sewing.
If you have a favorite place to get patches or supplies let me know so I can check them out.
Thank you so much for reading.
See you Tuesday
