Outfit of the Week: Adults Only

This past weekend was my first wedding anniversary and one of the few weekends that my husband and I got to spend a lot of time together. Having our wedding on April first, we knew we would have to deal with the April fools jokes and comments but, being atheists, having our anniversary on easter led to another set of problems with religious family members getting annoyed by our choice to spend the day alone.

This week’s outfit is the one I wore to our anniversary dinner at a local southern style restaurant Revival that has the best fried chicken and mac n cheese. If you are ever in Minneapolis I highly recommend it especially since it was one of the few restaurants open on Easter, not that we would have gone anywhere else anyways.

I have heard of women who don’t mix black and brown or black and navy in the same outfit because of some old rule they heard but I have never been one to follow the rules. For this simple yet somewhat dressy outfit I used the Adults Only shirt I received in my Local Boogeyman Mystery Box because even though I wanted to look nice, I knew I was going to eat way too much and needed to be comfortable. I paired it with one of my favorite skirts from Iron Fist because I can’t resist a good monochrome look and my zombie stitch heels just added to that idea. Of course I added some pantyhose as usual and my simple makeup was made to match the browns in my shirt and shoes.

If you celebrate Easter I hope you had a wonderful day with your family and if not let me know if you pulled any good pranks or got pranked for April fool’s day.

Thank you so much for reading.

See you Saturday

Black and brown is doable, black and navy is a crime.
