This month has been an odd and stressful one with horrible weather and the Super Bowl insanity that has taken over my city. Here are a few of my favorite things from this month.
George Orwell Books
With all of the political drama going on in the US I have been really into George Orwell’s allegorical books Animal Farm and 1984. Personally I preferred Animal Farm because you really felt for the animals and wanted them to succeed in overthrowing the humans and living freely but if you think about it, the story could apply to most oppressed peoples. It gives a great perspective. 1984 on the other hand is about a society where the government controls every aspect of everyone’s lives which even though it was written in 1949 and is about 30 years late in its predicted date is slowly coming true which is terrifying. If you haven’t read these and are interested, I highly recommend them.
Killstar Gravedigger Skull Handbag
I have been way too obsessed with handbags this month, but the one that has been by far my favorite and has quickly become my everyday purse is this 3D printed skull from Killstar. It is the perfect size for everything I need and has so much detail that it looks like I painted an actual human skull. Recently I have switched the shoulder strap to a chain one which is amazing. They also released a white version of this and I might have to order that one soon.
Kat Von D + Billie Joe Eyeliner
This Basketcase anti-precision eyeliner was in my New Years haul and last week I went back to Sephora to stock up (I now have 3). I can’t get enough of this smudgy bold formula. Definitely get it before it is discontinued!
Everyone has been obsessed with this Netflix show and I have been really behind the trend. I just finished watching all four seasons and I can’t wait for the next one. It incorporates dystopian future with technology and a few scenes that are so disturbing that you can’t look away. The first episode of the series was probably the best first episode of a show that I have ever seen, partially because it is something that could actually happen at any moment. If you haven’t seen it, what are you waiting for?
I have been cleaning out my closet of clothing that I wore for blog posts but either never wore again or grew out of because I am gaining my winter weight again. Poshmark is a great app for selling and purchasing used clothing. They make it so easy which is great for my technologically challenged brain. If you are interested in seeing what I am selling download the app and my username is curvyaltgirl.

Thank you so much for reading.
