I love makeup and fashion but the most important part of looking and feeling good is taking care of your skin. Like most people, I’m not always the best at keeping up a set routine or remembering to take off makeup before falling asleep on the couch on late nights. But I do have a general routine that I like to follow on days that I am wearing a full face of makeup all day and I’m left feeling gross. I have very oily, acne prone skin, so I try to wash my face every day and do masks at least once per week.
I always do them in the same order:
- Remove Makeup
- Wash/ Exfoliate
I know that some people have a huge 10 step process but I keep mine short and simple. For anyone with more dry skin just add moisturizing and use masks that fit your needs but these next products are my favorites that I use all the time.
- Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm – I used to think that because I have oily skin that I couldn’t put any kind of oil or balms on my face but this cleanser melts the makeup off, even mascara.
- Milk Makeup Matcha Cleanser – This cleanser makes my skin feel soft and has little exfoliating beads that I think help the mask to penetrate into the skin more. I also love that it is in a solid stick form which makes it easy for traveling.
- GLAMGLOW Super Mud Clearing Treatment – I know that this company has gotten a lot of attention for the crazy colorful peel-off masks but I am obsessed with this mud mask. I like for my masks to tingle or be cooling, just something for me to know it is doing something, and this one is definitely one that if you leave it on too long or have sensitive skin can be more of a burning sensation but for me it is amazing.
Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask – I don’t like to use the same mask all of the time and this is another of my favorites. I tightens the skin and adds hydration without making my skin more greasy than normal.
- Milk Makeup Matcha Toner – When I am all done washing my face I use this toner to close my pores and calm my skin. It feels amazingly cool on the skin.
I know that a few of these have already been in my favorites in the past but I wanted to share my whole routine for anyone that is curious about it. I hope this helped anyone that is having problems with their routine or wants to find new products.
