Fall Capsule Wardrobe

I love the idea of having a capsule wardrobe. It makes choosing an outfit simple and keeps your closet organized. For me it also ensures that I actually wear the clothes that I buy and gives every piece I own a chance to be seen.

Here is my current wardrobe consisting of 25 pieces: 10 tops, 3 jackets, 2 dresses, 2 skirts, 5 pairs of pants, and 3 pairs of shoes.

Band T-shirts: A staple in my wardrobe and a way to share the music I love. Band t-shirts are great to add an edge to any otherwise simple outfit.

Tops: I am obsessed with peter pan collars and included 2 of my many collared tops along with a graphic t-shirt,  oversized sweater, graphic pullover, and sexy long sleeved shirt.

Jackets: I love layering and fall is typically cool so having flannels and jackets is necessary not only for fall weather but to add variety in outfits.

Dresses: Both of these dresses are from Fashion Nova and are great basics for a base layer and can be worn with leggings, jackets and a variety of accessories.

Skirts: I love my black pencil skirt and it is included in almost every wardrobe I do. I also found this new red vegan leather skirt and I am in love.

Pants: I always make sure to have a variety of colors when I pick my pants for the month. If you have all black leggings or all jeans it will look like the same outfit over and over but if you have multiple colors and textures, you have dozens of new combinations. Also, my Spanx leggings are by far my favorite.

Shoes: My black platforms have been my go to shoes lately because they go with every outfit and they are so comfortable. The docs and booties are some other favorites of mine  that are very versatile.

When it comes to jewelry and other accessories DO NOT limit which pieces you use. Utilize everything you own, it will make the process so much easier and less repetitive. This capsule wardrobe consists of 25 pieces which is pretty small but you can choose whatever number you are most comfortable with. It is important to remember that doing this is not necessary and if you struggle with sticking to only a limited number of pieces that opening up your closet is not failure, this is just for fun.
